Swartland & the Westcoast

North of Malmesbury and along the Darling hills is where you’ll find the district of Swartland meets the Piketburg.  Traditionally a grain producing area, its soils contain sediment twice as old as Table Mountain’s sandstone which are producing an increasing percentage of quality reds.

Journey further on into the hills and you will discover Darling with its own wine route, 10 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean which is fast developing into a home for delicate cultivars due to its weather beaten soils.
The Groenekloof ward is renowned for its exceptional Sauvignon Blanc.  Grown in its highly contested reddish brown soils winemakers and wine lovers alike are being drawn to its outstanding wines.

Pinotage 2008

Beautiful fruit flavours dominate the nose of this wine, with just a touch of wood to add the complexity of the bouquet. The fruit burst through on the pallet and lingers nicely to complement the wine. Intense red plum fruit with bright acidity and ripe tannins completing the structure of this wine on the pallet.
