Along the Elephants River

Ever since Bushman decided to create their world famous painting on the rocks of the surrounding mountains, this region which was carved out by the Olifants (elephants in Afrikaans) River has retained its captivating beauty. The valley itself stretches from the fruit producing Citrusdal in the South to the wild flowers of Koekenaap in the North where the river turns towards the ocean. It is this combination of mountains and rivers that creates a rich canopy for growth. From the vines in the cooler mountain tops to the leaf covered vines growing near the river in the sandy soils ensuring the growth of quality grapes.
