Breede River Valley and beyond

Rich in lime, the soil of Robertson is very favorable for vines. Known as the ‘valley of vines and roses’ the growth of large, fruitful vines are a given in its shallow soils. The Breede River itself is the lifeline to this region and has lead to this region’s wine estates and co-operatives continued success. It is responsible for some of the Cape’s most revered Shiraz and distinctive fortified wines and continues to grow in popularity and stature.

The Worcester district is the largest wine growing area and volume in the country accounting for nearly 25% of South Africa’s total volume of wine and spirits. This continued volume had led to some of the larger cellars starting to balance volume by producing small quantities of very high quality wines under their own labels.

Cabernet Sauvignon / Shiraz 2007

A well balanced wine with good integration between wood and fruit flavours. Plum and berry on the noseand palate with a gentle tannin grip.  Overall a very pleasing and easy drinking wine.
